Manholes, Inlets & Precast Structures

Structures set plumb, connected tight and finished to grade.

Overview

Manholes & Structures.

Manholes, inlets and precast structures are where a utility system gets accessed, redirected and maintained, so they have to be set right. Castello Brothers sets sanitary and storm manholes, curb and grate inlets, junction boxes and headwalls, rigged in and placed plumb on a prepared base.

Setting the structure is only half the job. We channel manhole inverts for clean flow, make up pipe connections and boots so they do not leak, build to rim grade with grade rings and set frames and covers or grates to finished elevation.

Precast is heavy and unforgiving. Our crews have the rigging experience to place large structures safely and the attention to detail to finish inverts, connections and grade so the structure passes inspection and performs for the life of the system.

Why It Matters

Built Right the
First Time.

  • 01

    Set Plumb & Solid

Structures rigged in and set level on a prepared, compacted base so they do not settle, tilt or crack under load.

  • 02

    Inverts That Flow

Hand-finished manhole inverts and channels so flow moves cleanly through the structure instead of pooling or building up solids.

  • 03

    Leak-Free Connections

Pipe connections, boots and grouting done right so structures do not become the infiltration point that fails the test.

  • 04

    Finished to Grade

Grade rings, frames, covers and grates set to finished elevation so lids sit flush with pavement and stay accessible.

How We Work

From First Cut
to Final Backfill.

  1. 01

    Prepare the Base

We excavate and compact a stable base at the right elevation so the structure sits level and does not settle.

  2. 02

    Rig & Set the Structure

Precast sections are rigged in and set plumb by crane or excavator, stacked and sealed between sections as needed.

  3. 03

    Connect & Channel

Pipe is connected with boots and grout, and manhole inverts are channeled and finished so flow moves through cleanly.

  4. 04

Build to Grade & Top Out

Grade rings bring the structure to rim elevation, then frames, covers or grates are set flush to finished grade.

Common Questions

Good to
Know.

Bidding a job or have a question about this scope? Call us at (469) 245-1215 and talk to the people doing the work.

What kinds of structures do you set?

Sanitary and storm manholes, curb and grate inlets, junction boxes, headwalls and outfall structures, along with the grade rings, frames, covers and grates that top them out.

Do you channel the manhole inverts?

Yes. We channel and finish inverts so flow moves cleanly through the structure, which keeps solids from building up and helps the line pass camera inspection.

How do you keep structures from settling?

We prepare and compact a stable base at the correct elevation before setting, so the structure stays plumb and does not settle or crack once it is connected and backfilled.
