Water Line Installation

Domestic and fire water mains built to pass pressure and bac-t.

Overview

Water Lines.

Castello Brothers installs domestic water mains, service lines and the full run of appurtenances that make a water system work. We handle C900 PVC, ductile iron and related pipe, bedded and restrained so the line holds pressure and passes testing the first time.

Every fitting, valve, tap and bend is a potential leak or failure point if it is rushed. We take the time to restrain joints, pour or set thrust blocking where the plans call for it and wrap and protect connections before the trench ever gets backfilled.

From the tap on the existing main to the meters and fire service, we build the water package to the civil plans and the local water authority's specs, then support the pressure test, chlorination and bacteriological clearance.

Why It Matters

Built Right the
First Time.

  • 01

    Built to Hold Pressure

Restrained joints, proper thrust restraint and careful bedding mean the main passes the pressure test instead of sending you back into the trench.

  • 02

    Clean Connections

Wrapped, blocked and protected fittings and taps at every valve, bend and connection to the existing system.

  • 03

    Ready for Clearance

We support chlorination and bacteriological testing so the line clears and gets put into service without delays.

  • 04

    Coordinated With Fire

Domestic and fire water installed together, tied in with the hydrants, FDC risers and fire lines that share the system.

How We Work

From First Cut
to Final Backfill.

  1. 01

    Layout & Tap Location

We confirm the connection point to the existing main, verify depth and cover and lay out valves, fittings and services from the plans.

  2. 02

    Trench & Bed

The trench is opened, shored and dewatered as needed, then bedded so the pipe sits on a stable, uniform grade.

  3. 03

    Lay Pipe & Set Appurtenances

Pipe is laid and restrained, valves and fittings are set, thrust blocking is placed and services are stubbed to their locations.

  4. 04

    Test, Disinfect & Tie In

We pressure test the line, chlorinate and flush, support bac-t clearance, then make the final tie-in and backfill.

Common Questions

Good to
Know.

Bidding a job or have a question about this scope? Call us at (469) 245-1215 and talk to the people doing the work.

Can you make the tap to the existing water main?

Yes. We perform wet and dry taps to existing mains and coordinate any required shutdowns or inspections with the local water authority so the connection is done to spec.

Do you handle pressure testing and disinfection?

We install the line to hold pressure and support the full clearance process: hydrostatic pressure testing, chlorination, flushing and bacteriological sampling before the main goes into service.

Do you install both domestic and fire water?

We do. Domestic and fire water often share trench and tie-in work, so installing them together keeps the system coordinated and the schedule tight, including hydrants and FDC risers.
