Sanitary Sewer Installation

Gravity sewer set on grade so it flows exactly as designed.

Overview

Sanitary Sewer.

Sanitary sewer lives and dies by grade. Castello Brothers installs gravity sanitary mains, service laterals and cleanouts set precisely to the slopes on the plans, on stable bedding that holds that grade through backfill and testing.

We work in PVC and the pipe materials the project calls for, connecting into manholes with proper inverts and channeling so flow moves cleanly through the structure instead of pooling or surcharging. Services are stubbed and marked so the plumbing contractor knows exactly where to tie in.

Deep sanitary runs mean deep, safe excavation. Our crews are comfortable working in trench boxes at depth, around existing utilities and structures, and we support the air, mandrel and deflection testing that gets the line accepted.

Why It Matters

Built Right the
First Time.

  • 01

    Grade Done Right

Lines set to the engineered slope on stable bedding, so the sewer flows by gravity the way it was designed instead of sagging or holding water.

  • 02

    Clean Manhole Inverts

Connections into structures are channeled and finished so flow moves through the manhole without turbulence, buildup or surcharge.

  • 03

    Passes Testing

We build to pass air, mandrel and deflection testing, and support camera inspection so the line gets accepted without rework.

  • 04

    Comfortable at Depth

Sanitary runs deep. Our crews and equipment are set up for safe, efficient work in deep cuts around existing utilities.

How We Work

From First Cut
to Final Backfill.

  1. 01

    Set Grade From the Plans

We establish line and grade from the profile sheets, confirm rim and invert elevations and locate existing utilities before excavation.

  2. 02

    Excavate & Bed

Trenches are opened and shored at depth, dewatered as needed, then bedded and haunched to support the pipe at exact grade.

  3. 03

    Lay Pipe & Build Structures

Pipe is laid up from downstream, services and cleanouts are set, and manhole inverts are channeled for clean flow through each structure.

  4. 04

    Test, Inspect & Backfill

We support air, mandrel, deflection and camera testing, correct anything flagged, then backfill in compacted lifts.

Common Questions

Good to
Know.

Bidding a job or have a question about this scope? Call us at (469) 245-1215 and talk to the people doing the work.

How do you make sure the sewer holds grade?

We set line and grade off the profile sheets, bed and haunch the pipe on stable material and check grade as we lay, then backfill carefully so nothing shifts before testing.

Do you handle the manhole connections and inverts?

Yes. We tie the sewer into manholes and channel the inverts so flow moves cleanly through the structure, which is a common point where poor work shows up on the camera inspection.

Can you support the required acceptance testing?

We build the line to pass and support air, mandrel and deflection testing along with camera inspection, and we correct any issues before the line is accepted.
